Orienteering is the sport of navigating through an unfamiliar area using a map and perhaps a compass. The object is to make your way through a series of points identified on a map and return to the finish line in the shortest amount of time as possible. The route of your journey is up to you. At each marked point, you will find an orange and white “control” marker and a unique punch so you can punch your card to prove that you’ve found the control.
Whether walking or running, this sport involves endurance, ingenuity, and decision making. It is a sport for everyone, regardless of age or experience with courses from beginner to advanced. Take your whole family in a staycation adventure!
